Save the 7
RDS Fire Stations in Warwickshire due for closure
Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Service
has proposed a number of changes within its aptly titled, 'Improvement
Plan' including the proposal to close seven Retained Duty System
(RDS) Fire Stations (document
available here).
The RFU is 100% against such proposals
and will be taking the appropriate steps on behalf of its members
to fight these proposals. The 'consultation' document provides no
justification for such a proposal and provides no evidence that
such a move would be cost effective, provide safer communities for
the public of Warwickshire or reducing the most cost-effective fire
cover gives best value for local taxpayers.
For more information please contact
Warwickshire RFU Chair Tony Morgan on 07852 232166.
