WARKS RDS Appeal

Personal Message from John Barton, RFU National General Secretary

The RFU welcomes donations from any source for those who lost their lives in the Atherstone incident.

We have set up an account for this purpose and there is a choice for those who wish to donate.

For cheque donation (made payable to 'Mutual Aid Fund - Warks RDS Appeal’) these can be sent freepost to:

Retained Firefighters Union
Freepost ANG 4726
Attleborough
NR17 2YX

or banked directly into the following account:

Barclays Bank plc
Sort Code: 20-99-08
A/C No: 30977268
A/C name: Mutual Aid Fund – Warks RDS Appeal

We encourage our members to donate to this worthwhile cause, our appeal is not a competitor and we can confirm that and all proceeds will be sent directly to Warwickshire Fire and Rescue to be included in the fund which has been established within the service.

RFU Vice-President Tony Morgan, himself a serving firefighter in Warwickshire has been invited to sit on the local appeal committee.

Any loss of life whilst serving the public by brave and committed emergency personnel is a tragic event but for the RFU, the fact that those who died were employed on the retained duty system has a huge impact and we hope you understand how we feel.

Please donate to this worthy cause in any way you can, there are those left behind who will need help for some considerable time and things will never be the same again.

Don’t Wait – Please Donate!

John Barton
General Secretary
