It is with great sadness that we report the news of another firefighter whose life was taken whilst on duty.

Paul Mallaghan, a Watch Manager based at Stevenage, Hertfordshire was hit by a car whilst attending a car fire, another firefighter was also taken to hospital with injuries.

Mr Mallaghan was from the same Blue Watch in Stevenage where two firefighters died in February 2005 in a fire at a flat.
