Public Sector Pension Review

You may have seen in the media that former Labour MP now Lord Hutton has been asked to chair a commission on public service pensions http://www.hm-treasury.gov.uk/press_14_10.htm

Debate on the funding and management of public service pensions has been ongoing for a number of years, http://www.public-sector-pensions-commission.org.uk/wp-content/themes/pspc/images/Public-Sector-Pensions-Commission-Report.pdf which goes someway to explaining why the coalition is now initiating the commission and asking Lord Hutton to chair it.

The RFU has chosen to restrict the submission to what we believe is the major issue, the adequate and ethical provision for those RDS who sustain serious injuries on duty and lose both their FRS and Primary employment source of income. A copy of the submission is attached.
