| U-turn
over the removal of Welsh Co-Responder Schemes |
|||||
Having highlighted the short comings of any decision to remove finances for Co-Responder Schemes within Mid and West Wales Fire Service we are pleased to confirm that common-sense has been seen to prevail. Following our Press Statement of 16 April 2008 (Welsh Ambulance Service Cut Vital Life Saving Cover) it would seem that the Welsh Ambulance Trust has had a change of heart. We would like to thank both the Welsh Ambulance Service and Mid and West Wales Fire Service for acting in a prompt and professional manner in availing any negative impact on the local communities where the 14 Co-Responder Schemes are currently in operation. This partnership between
Mid and West Wales Fire Service and Welsh Ambulance Service has been operating
successfully for 10 years providing a rapid attendance to serious medical
emergencies from local fire stations in Mid & West Wales. 14 stations
have been operating on the scheme attending nearly 2000 calls per annum. Statement Ends Press contacts
